Liquefaction of saturated cohesionless soils has been identified as the major cause of several catastrophic failures, such as the October ۱.۹۸۹ earthquake in San Francisco. This paper presents the results of series of monotonic and cyclic triaxial liquefaction tests performed on specimens of a fine sand. ۴onotonic and cyclic triaxial liquefaction tests were performed to letermine the effect of testing variables (specifically, relative density and confining pressure) on both monotonic and cyclic Liquefaction potential. The steady-state line (SSL), during monotonic Loading, was established. Moreover, charts are developed for prediction )f the number of cycles required to induce liquefaction under similar ۷yclic loading conditions
