چکیده

This paper presents the eco-efficiency assessment in paint industries. In this study indicators such as water consumption, energy use, raw material consumption and hazardous waste generation in the production process have been assessed. A quantitative method was used for analyzing the above mentioned parameters in terms of production and sales value during ۵ years (۲۰۰۷-۲۰۱۱). The results showed that eco-efficiency trend of water consumption, energy use, raw material consumption and hazardous waste generation in the paint process was increasing overally throughout the research time. It was possible due to operational innovations and process modifications. Eco-efficiency comparing in the research indicated decreasing in the resource use and waste generation. Recycling and reusing of process solvents in this plant have had significant share in decreasing resource use and waste generation.Eco-efficiency as a new event indicates industries environmental and economic situation, has not yet been regarded in Iran. It is suggested that eco-efficiency assessment implementing is a good method for stating environmental and economic performance of the industrial units.
