In this paper, different configurations of hybrid desalination plants using MED/MSF and RO system havebeen studied. Among all ۹ scenarios (۳ single element and ۶ hybrid systems) scenario number ۴ in whichcooling water of MED used to feed RO, is the best hybrid scenario regarding to lower needed specificheat transfer surface in thermal plant and total energy consumption. Also this scenario has higherdesalinated water product per intake seawater flow rate which it means in the same desalinated waterdemand; suction pumps will need less power to take seawater to desalination plant.
