چکیده مقاله:
The art of illustration, which is currently known as one of the most influential visual arts branches, goes way back to the time that humans lived in caves. This art is used as a powerful and independent tool to demonstrate the concept and the meaning of humans’ opinions. It also, as a powerful artistic arm, has held its position alongside literature over time. The illustration was started by murals in the caves and was developed by describing the books' concepts. Also, this art remains among valuable documents that show the culture and civilization of previous periods. At the beginning of Islam's formation, even though there were restrictions on illustration in Islamic lands, this art in these societies and especially in Iran was never stopped completely, and it continued its way. This article presents an overview of the art of illustration and its conditions in the early Islamic centuries.
