چکیده مقاله:
Sever plastic deformation (SPD) imposes variations on the microstructure which results in improved mechanical characteristics such as higher strength and hardness. SPD triggers dynamic recrystallization which results in improved mechanical characteristics via new fine grains. The finite element method (FEM) is an efficient tool to study SPD which makes researchers able to have a better insight of the process and model the real conditions in a cost effective manner. In the present study, DEFORM commercial software was applied to model Tube Cyclic Extrusion–Compression (TCEC) of a WASPALOY tube. The process condition was considered in the model and changes in the microstructure of modeled alloys were analyzed. The results suggest that the process imposes a high stress (۶۳۷ MPa) and the dynamic recrystallization also occurred. The final grain size was less than half of the initial one.
