چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : A. baumannii have emerged as a problematic organism in clinical setting due to resistance to carbapenems, aminoglycosides and biofilm formation ability. The aim of current research was to determine antimicrobial susceptibility pattern, carbapenems and aminoglycoside resistance genes and biofilm formation among clinical isolates of A. baumannii. Methods : A total of ۱۳۳ A. baumannii was collected in Yasuj and Bandar Abbas, Iran. Antimicrobial susceptibility was deretmined using disk diffusion. Carbapenem resistance genes, including: blaOXA-۵۱-like, blaOXA-۲۳-like, blaOXA-۲۴-like, blaOXA-۵۸-like and aminoglycoside resistance genes: aac (۳)-I, aac (۶ ')-Ib, aph (۳ ')-I was amplified by PCR. Biofilm formation was evaluated by using microtiter plate assay. Results : All isolates contained blaOXA-۵۱-like and confirmed as A. baumannii. High level resistance was observed for carbapenems and aminoglysosides. The prevalence of blaOXA-۲۳-like and blaOXA-۲۴-like was ۶۶.۹% and ۳۴.۶% respectively. Moreover, co-occurrence of bla-OXA-۲۳-like and bla-OXA-۲۴-like was ۷.۵%. The rate of aac (۳)-I and aph (۳ ')-I was ۵۴.۹% and ۵۱.۹% respectively. Furthermore, coexistence of these two genes was observed in ۴۱.۴% of isolates. No blaOXA-۵۸-like and aac (۶)-Ib was found. The result demonstrated that ۹۷% of isolated were strong, ۲.۳% moderate and ۰.۸% weak bioflim producer. Conclusion : According to the results, bla-OXA-۲۳-like and aac (۳)-I were the most prevalent resistance genes. Since a vast majority of isolates were resistant and biofilm producer, Infection control programs and policies should be frequently reviewed to control the transmission of drug resistant A. baumannii isolates in the future.
