چکیده مقاله:
Effect of Cu and K prompters on catalytic activity of nickel based catalyst supported on ceria was investigated in medium temperature shift reaction at the temperature range of ۳۰۰ to ۳۹۰ °C. Samples characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption (BET) analysis. Due to high CH۴ selectivity (۹۰%) in nickel catalyst supported on ceria, ۱۰Ni-۶X/CeO۲ (x: Cu or Ni) catalysts were synthesized via impregnation method to suppress the methanation reaction. Both samples showed positive effect on suppressing methane formation. Although Cu promoted sample showed higher CO conversion, but due to lower methane formation using the catalyst promoted by K which is because if basic nature of potassium, ۱۰Ni-۶K/CeO۲ is selected as better sample.
