چکیده مقاله:

Renewable distributed generation (RDG) including solar and wind power will outstrip their traditional and dirty fossil fuel-based rivals in power generation by ۲۰۲۵. This rapid growth of decentralized and distributed power generation as well as impacts of climate change, fossil fuel resource depletion, policy incentives, and the public’s awareness lead the energy sector to tend to new paradigms and solutions that meet the energy trilemma objectives: cost-effectiveness, reduction of CO۲ emissions, and resilience. The paper proposes a heuristic and innovative approach to design an energy hub based on multi-renewable energy systems, i.e. the floating energy hub. The floating energy hub is an established concept to this end by this study. Thanks to its offshore installation and renewable power generation, the floating energy hub reduces the ecological and biodiversity concerns, land usage footprint, and aesthetic impacts related to the terrestrial one as well as meets the energy trilemma. The paper also shows the potential of the floating energy hub to become a green, self-sufficient energy hub or a green fuel supply station as well.
