Designing and Manufacturing Fully Automatic ۶۰۰-ton Double Cylinder Hydraulic Wheelset Press

Being the interface between the railroad car and the rail infrastructure, wheelsets carry the whole weight of railroad cars. A wheelset is the wheel–axle assembly of a railroad car. Wheelsets are the high safety assembly in a railcar, any defects in this assembly occur dangerous incidents such as derailment. An important issue in the manufacturing procedure of wheelsets is correct mounting of wheels on axles. The mounting procedure is done by hydraulic press and any mounted wheelset should achieve all requirements of EN ۱۳۲۶۰ standard. Wheelsets as a main part of any type of railcars, have an important role in achieving safe traveling by the railway industry.Based on improving demands in the railway industry, it is expected that a huge amount of wheelsets for locomotives, passenger coaches and freight wagons will be needed for this industry. Arvin Tabriz technical department designed and manufactured a full automatic ۶۰۰-ton double cylinder hydraulic wheelset press. This investigation describes the general procedure of manufacturing and then we will compare extracted results from mentioned press with acceptance criteria that were published in EN ۱۳۲۶۰ standard. At the end we found the good agreements.
