چکیده مقاله:

The objective of the study is to assess and improve the mechanical properties of polylactic acid (PLA) with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) blend. The blend was prepared via using the melt mixing process followed by the injection molding of the parts of different alloying components. The effect of different blend ratios on the mechanical properties were investigated by the tensile and flexural test. The overall mechanical performance was then correlated to the thermal characteristics of the fabricated parts using scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. The mechanical properties of PLA showed improvement compared to the pure PLA with the incorporation of TPU and EVA. The flexural modulus increased with the increase in TPU and EVA content. The findings represented that the tensile and flexural strength also increased when TPU and EVA were added. The optimum tensile and flexural strength were found to obtain at ۷۵PLA/۱۵TPU/۱۰EEVA of blends ratios.
