Effects of physical activity on boosting the immune system and mental tranquility during the epidemic of covid-۱۹

چکیده

Background and Objective: Restrictions applied during the quarantine including the lockdown will lead to inactivity and therefore physical activity reduction. Studies demonstrate that reduced physical activity will have a negative impact on our social and mental health, metabolism, cancer prevention, osteoporosis and immunity also underlying conditions and disorders seem to worsen the Covid-۱۹ symptoms as well. The purpose of this study is to investigate damages caused by reduction of physical activity during the Covid-۱۹ pandemic.search method: The data in this review article were obtained by searching Google scholar and PubMed databases with the keywords physical activity and covid-۱۹. authentic articles related to Covid-۱۹ have been searched since ۲۰۱۹. ۲۳ articles were selected and finally ۱۸ articles were reviewed Findings: Physical activity augments our immune system response to the virus' antigens. Exercise increases the body's resistance to virus infection by moving leukocytes deep into the blood and tissues. People who maintained physical activity during the Covid-۱۹ era showed higher levels of mental health and lower levels of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety. Exercise reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by regulating blood sugar levels. Also, decreased mobility during this period increases the risk of venous thromboembolism and the risk of muscle atrophy due to decreased myofibrillar protein synthesis. Conclusion: Daily exercise can help fight the disease by reducing the risk of common diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and serious heart disease, which increase the risk of Covidus ۱۹, and is very important in preventing severe viral complications and mortality. Therefore, encouraging physical activity by sports specialist and counselors is essential to promote public health and awareness of the dangers of inactivity
