Determining Predictors of Covid-۱۹ Disease Preventive Behavior Based on Health Belief Model: A Systematic Review

Background and Objective: In late ۲۰۱۹, the World Health Organization reported a group of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. The corona virus responsible for this outbreak was named ۲۰۱۹-nCOV, and the viral disease is now known as COVID-۱۹ (corona virus ۲۰۱۹) and is highly contagious. The present study systematically reviews and analyzes studies based on the health belief model in the field of predictors of preventive behavior from Covid۱۹ disease.Search Methods: In this study, articles were systematically used by searching ۶ reputable electronic databases including Pro_Quest, Springer, Scopus, Medline, Science Direct, PubMed and Google Scholar search engine with keywords Covid۱۹, Coronavirus Disease, HBM and Health Belief Model, from the beginning of ۲۰۲۰ to January ۶, ۲۰۲۱. From these studies, studies were selected that were in English and used the health belief model. Finally, after three stages, ۸ studies with inclusion criteria from the beginning of ۲۰۲۰ to January ۶, ۲۰۲۱ were reviewed in this study.Findings: Of the ۸ studies reviewed, ۷ studies perceived self-efficacy, ۴ studies perceived barriers, ۲ studies perceived benefits and guidelines for action, and one study assessed perceived sensitivity and severity as predictors of behavior.Conclusion: The studies show that self-efficacy and perceived barriers were the most predictors of behavior based on the health belief model, and special attention should be paid to them in designing and implementing educational interventions.
