چکیده مقاله:
Critical pedagogy is a philosophy of education and social movement that has been debated for nearly five decades now and appears in many and various characterizations and constructions resulted in a vast body of literature defining it variably. Many authors considered critical pedagogy as “the best”, if not the ultimate, available paradigm for education which aims at synthesizing all previous approaches with a clear criticism of the societal conditions of education. However, critical pedagogy could not fulfill its expectations and has met fierce criticism since its initiation. This article attempted to provide a critique of critical pedagogy to raise educators’ awareness to avoid the great risk of indoctrination and ideological imposition hidden in the application of this approach, the management of which has not yet been well theorized in the critical pedagogy literature.
