چکیده مقاله:

Newcastle disease, one of the most important contagious bird diseases, continuously causes significant economic damages to the commercial poultry industry,in many parts of the world even with the widespread use of different types of commercial vaccines against the disease. In Iran,Newcastle disease has continued as one of the most important pests of poultry industry since its initial identification in the ۱۹۵۰s. In addition to commercial poultry, Newcastle disease occurs in a wide range of free living and captive birds and it has great clinical importance in these populationsas well.During the ۲۰۱۸ autumn and ۲۰۱۹ winter seasons, three different outbreaks of Newcastle disease were observed in three different species of birds include pigeon, peafowl and pheasants enclosed in a public bird garden in Tehran.Genetic identification of viral isolates obtained fromthese outbreaks indicated the presence of various genotypes of Newcastle disease virus (II, VI.۲.۱.۲ and VII.۱.۱) in different outbreaks. The virus isolated from pheasants was closely related to isolates obtained from commercial poultry farms in different parts of Iran (Genotype VII.۱.۱);while theisolate obtained from disease outbreak in pigeons were related to the isolates obtained from pigeons in Nigeria, Kenya, Belgium and the United States (Genotype VI.۲.۱.۲). In addition, we isolated a genotype II NDV from immature peacocks that had an acute death, which was very similar to thecommon vaccine strains.
