خلاصه مقاله:
Background: Child mortality / child survival is one of the important indicators of nationalsocio-economic development and health development measure. Reducing child mortalityis one of the Millennium Development Goals worldwide. Child mortality can have severalfactors, one of which is the level of education of parents, especially mothers. In this study, the relationship between mothers' education level and child mortality was investigated.Material and Methods: For the Mother's education level and mortality of children under5 years included in GBD 2017, we systematically reviewed epidemiological data for Iranand used a Pearson correlation. We calculated the average annual percent change (AAPC)mortality of children under 5 years in Iran 2000-2017 with join point regression softwareand present them with 95% certainty intervals. Results: In 2017, the mean mortality of children under 5 years accounted for 13 (95% CI8.4–18.2) per 100000 in Iran. Average annual percent change (AAPC) mortality ofchildren under 5 years is -5.8 %( 95% CI -6.2–-5.4). Pearson correlation between Meanmortality children under 5 years and mean years of Education is (r=-0.98, p value=0.001).Conclusions: Findings from the present study have shown an inverse relationship betweenmothers' education and child mortality, so that increasing the level of mothers' educationreduces child mortality. Therefore, it is suggested that special attention be paid to the educationof young people, especially girls, as a primary solution in children's health in the long-termplan and the constructive role of women in raising and ensuring the health of children shouldalways be considered and in order to encourage mothers to study science, education plannersshould take the necessary measures.
