چکیده

Background: Diabetes is a global health problem and its prevalence is increasing and theincidence of diabetes has more than doubled in less than 25 years. Diabetes causes avariety of complications, including kidney problems such as papillary necrosis, ESRD(End Stage Renal Disease) and so on. Alcohol consumption is a common practice in mostcountries. And it has effects on the organs of the body. In this study, we investigate theeffect of diabetes on the process of alcohol consumption and the risk of kidney disease.Material and Methods: By entering keywords and time constraints into scientificdatabases, we analyze the information as follows: review of 13 Google Scholar articlesand 7 articles from Sience direct and 11 articles from Pub med with Abstract Title Filter. We analyzed their data directly. Results: Alcohol consumption is associated with a decrease in the prevalence of type 2diabetes. Long-term alcohol consumption can cause changes in the tissue and function ofthe kidneys. Alcohol consumption has an inverse relationship with ESRD. Alcoholpolyphenols enhance renal antioxidant defense and protective effect on renal ischemiaand also inhibits apoptosis of mesangial cells and heavy alcohol consumption with a highrisk of RHF (Renal Hyper filtration) and it speeds up the CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease)process and in diabetics, it can slow the process of nephropathy. Of course, in relation tothese effects, other factors such as body mass, smoking and geographic area and considerthe other. Conclusions: Given the effects of diabetes on the kidneys as well as the effects of alcoholon the kidney tissue, it can be deduced that alcohol consumption in people with diabetesshould be treated with caution and require more careful examination.
