An Analysis of Paul Auster’s City of Glass as an Experimental Metafiction

In the Present paper Paul Auster’s first novel in his New York Trilogy, City of Glass, is going to be examined as a post-modernist metafiction in which all the characters are striving to survive the fictional world of the author’s imagination but all have to leave the pages in to the world of unknowns. The purpose of this paper is to show how Auster depict the borders between fiction and reality where the two mingle to each other and the world of novel engage into the real world of the author.
