Archetypal Reading of Milan Kundera’s Identity

The purpose of this study is to build an in-depth understanding of the main characters of the novel Identity written by Milan Kundera in 1998 in order to explain the inner and outer life of these characters in virtue of the archetypal analysis which make the characters’ actions and thoughts comprehensible. Respectively, the main archetypes of our collective unconscious such as the self, the persona and the shadow are applied to the female character of the novel so that the reader can get a deeper understanding of the story.
