northridge and kobe earthquakes which significantly damaged many of sturctures built according to building codes called for numerous studies on the causes of such damages . The studies suggested greater effects of records in near fault ground motions in addition to the effects recommended on the codes therefore in order to incorporate these effects in building codes a greater design force is required in the code for earthquakes at zones adjacent to fractures.
