The stable isotopes content in precipitation of Tehran the capital and the most important metropolitan in Iran is under influence of both small scale local (temperature, precipitation amount, and water vapor) and large scale regional (teleconnection indices) factors. Studying the role of various local and regional factors on stable isotopes content of precipitation in Tehran shows that precipitation amount, temperature, and water vapor are the main local factors, while Bivariate ENSO (BEST) teleconnection indice is the only large scale regional factor which directly influence stable isotopes in precipitation. Studying the importance of the local and regional factors on the stable isotopes content of precipitation in Tehran using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) shows that among the various local factors temperature and among the various regional factors BEST teleconnection indice are the dominant parameters which influence stable isotopes content in precipitation.
