چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective: Childbirth is one of the midwifery emergencies. In many pregnant women, due to midwifery and medical problems, cervical cancer needs to be prepared for childbirth before it begins. Castor oil is used as an amber viscous liquid to induce labor.Search Method: This study is a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted without time limit and keyword search for castor oil, delivery, cervix, postnatal pregnancy in SID, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar databases.Findings: Castor oil stimulates smooth muscle and causes uterine contractions in pregnant women Castor oil's mechanism of onset of labor pains is unclear, but may enhance prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandins are a rare and expensive product. Using castor oil can be a good alternative as a low cost and safe method.Conclusion: Studies have shown that Bishop Score is 3.1% in castor oil and the average probability of labor pain in the study groups in the first 24 hours is 61.56%.
