چکیده
Background: Morbidity and mortality related to prostate cancer have been reduced significantly with modern medical treatment, and quality of life should now be considered an important index of effective health care. Health-related quality of life is an important outcome measure in patients with prostate cancer. We sought to determine how prostate cancer affects quality of life and which independent variables are associated with poor quality of life. Method: We studied 160 mens with prostate cancer with a median age of 55 years (range 50 to 65 years). HRQoL was assessed with the Short Form-36 )±±-36(.±±± ±±±±±ionnaire was completed at baseline by all patients. We evaluated factors that were associated with changes in quality of life within study groups and determined the effects on satisfaction with the treatment outcome.Finding: Quality of life in mens with prostate cancer is severely impaired, particularly with respect to emotional well-being. With respect to mental health status, patients with prostate cancer have worse scores. Factors related to poor quality of life include older age, severe disease, distribution of cancer. Conclusion: Patients with prostate cancer have very impaired quality of life, particularly from an emotional perspective.کلیدواژه ها
