چکیده مقاله:

Background:Depression is one of the most common neurological and mood disorder and its etiology includes the role of various neurotransmitters, life events and internal stressors such as serum levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose. MDD is a significant medical condition that can affect many aspect of person’s life and also caused reducing enjoyment and interest in daily activities. Because of Apo lipoproteins like APOD having abundant expression in human serum and the nervous system, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between major depressive disorder with level of serum lipoprotein and Apo lipoprotein. Search Method:This review article was performed within article published at PubMed, Scopus, Google scholar, science direct and SID from 2000 to 2019.The keyword were, major depressive disorder, lipoproteins and Apo lipoproteins. By searching this database, 76 articles were found, 37 of them were not related with investigating and 21 of them by reading abstract were removed.Finding:Finally 18 articles were included in the study, in some of articles reported that MDD caused to change the serum level of different markers, including some of lipoproteins and Apolipoprotein. In one study that investigating 16 markers, expressed that 6 markers including (APOB, APOD, CP, GC, HRNR, and PFN1) were significantly different in case group with the control group, serum levels of Apolipoprotein B and LDL-C were higher in depressed patients than in control group, while levels of Apolipoprotein A and HDL-C were lower in depressed patients than in control group, And after treatment, the level of Apo-lipoprotein A increased. Conclusion:It seems that immune-inflammatory system and lipid metabolism to be involved in the pathophysiology of MDD, but need to be more research done at this issue.
