چکیده

Lithium ion batteries are one of the most used rechargeable batteries around the world. Silicon and SnO2 are regarded as two of the anode material for these batteries with the highest specific capacity. This paper reports the synthesis of Silicon/SnO2 hybrid nanostructures which can be used as the anode material for high performance Lithium ion batteries. Silicon nanowires have been grown using VLS process in a LPCVD system. Nanowires with diameters in the range of 10 to 100 nm were obtained on the stainless steel substrate. Consequently SnO2 nanostructures were deposited on the Silicon nanowires implementing a horizontal tube furnace. The fabricated structure can be used as a potential electrode for Lithium ion batteries.
