Economical evaluation of recyclable dry solid waste in district 4 of shiraz city: cost-benefit analysis

Due to that one of the main goals of every project is having income and profitability and economical profitability, in this article the economic value of recycling of dry solid waste in district 4 of Shiraz city is studied. In this study, costs and benefits of implementation of dry solid waste recycling plan have been calculated after considering the physical analysis of source separated collected dry solid waste in district 4 of Shiraz. Then the economic value of recyclable dry solid waste in 2019 has been calculated by using the cost benefit analysis. According to the analysis done by solid waste management organization of Shiraz municipality, the weight of expected annual collected dry solid waste is 6070.5 tons. Physical analysis of source separated collected solid waste in this district shows that paper, card board and carton by 45.46%, plastic by 13.69%, pet by 9.81%, glass by 9.59% are the main components of source separated collected dry solid waste. Consequently, recycling of these materials leads to annual revenue including reduction in costs of solid waste landfilling by 2124675000 and net Revenue of approximately 39750030936 Rials. Furthermore, this can leads to save the use of approximately 607050 garbage bags by citizens. The result of this study show that recycling of municipal solid waste and implementation of recycling plan is economically justifiable
