A survey was hnplemented to identification predictor and production mode from march shekar- Tighal cocoons in Lorestan province west part of Iran ~.' ; . 1993 to march 1996 and our finding showed that: shekar- Tighal cocoon are a kind m8JUla that was family polysaccharides. TIds manna that excretes by salivaloy glands a larvae special insect (Larinus : coleoptera) on Echinops paAhtiaricus and E.ritrdes .from composite family. In generally one specie and one subspecies larinus collected that are: Lonopordie and Lo.macuIatus. They inunediately after eegs hatching excrete this manna in jW1ction stem to leaf on plant. The m81U1a Is very to ~ome hard and dry this cocoon are protective role for larvae and insect. pupae. The plant is btdigenous to Iran and grows wild in the zagros and albors region.
