چکیده

Red palm weevil (RPW), RhynchOphorous ferrugineus Oliv. (Col.: Dryophthoridae), is one of the most important pests of different palms in Asia, North Africa and Spain. At present, it is an internal quarantined pest in Saravan region (Sistan and Balouchistan province, Iran). Date palm fruit stalk borer (DPFSB), Oryctes elegans Prell. (Col.: Scarabaeidae) is one of the most important pests of palm in Iran and Asia. Several experiments have been carried out on the role of host plant and pheromone on the attraction and trapping of RPW and DPFSB, both by pheromone-bait traps during 2006 in Saravan region. Analysis of results of study on the role of each of present components in trap ( pheromone and Plant bait) on attraction RPW showed that traps contain 2 kg date palm core in comparison with contiguous traps (contain only 2 pheromone) significantly attract more beetles (p< O.O1). This subject indicated that pheromone cause attraction the beetles away from trap, because of in the near of traps, attracted beetles grounding and entrying into trap contain only date palm core. But traps contain 2 kg date palm corein comparison with contiguous traps ( contain only 2 pheromone) significantly were equally attractive for DPFSB (p< O.O1). Analysis of results of investigation on effect of different parts of host plant on the attraction and trapping of RPW and DPFSB showed that there was a significant difference among treatments (P< O.O I). Date palm core, stem periphery of date and date fruit were equally attractive for RPW. Also for DPFSB, baits include date palm core, stem periphery of date and whaet bran were equally attractive. Analysis of results of study the effect of trap place on the attraction of RPW showed that there was not any significant difference in the mean of catches of RPW by traps that had been placed in different trees and metal beam (P< O.O1). All treatments were equally attractive for RPW. So the place of trap have not cfffect on cathing of RPW.
