چکیده

In this article the experimental data for rheological behvior and pour point of waxy iranian crude oil treated by the wax inhibitors are presented . Poly ethylene -vinyl acetate copolymer as wax inhibitor with different range of molecular weights was used for the treatment of the waxy crude oil . two type of iranian waxy crude oil were selected on the basis of their similar wax > 10% but different asphaltene contents. the rheological data cover the temperature range of 5 to 40 C. the result indicated that the performance of wax inhibitors was dependent on the molecular weight and the type of crude oil. lower molecular weight wax inhibitors showed good efficiency for crude oil , with high asphaltene , whereas higher molecular weight wax inhibitors were good for crude oil with little asphaltene. addition of small quantities of xylene 1wt.% as asphaltene solvents , alone or in combination with wax inhibitor, can improve viscosity and pour point of crude oil.
