چکیده

Nowadays, excessive consumption of fossil fuels has increased greenhouse gas emissions which is one of the major contributors to global warming. Rising global temperatures and consequently climate change has led humans to use renewable energy. Accordingly, deploying various types of solar cooling and heating systems in current buildings has become very prevalent recently. Using solar heating systems can be a major step in reducing fossil fuel consumption and air pollution and consequently, decreases the growing rate of global temperatures risings. On the other hand, since such systems are designed to provide humans well-being and comfort, they require high reliability to minimize the failure rate. In this study, a solar heating system including a hot water absorption chiller with a capacity of 484 kW was designed for an educational building located in Tehran with a total area of 3400 m2. This heating system uses 227 flat-plate collectors in order to provide the required thermal energy. The system is designed to provide 100% of the thermal energy required by the chiller from solar collectors all along a year. in order to increase the system reliability, a parallel auxiliary system including a boiler with a capacity of 500 kW has been used to achieve a reliability of 99.9922%.
