چکیده

In this study, snap-through instability of thermally preloaded functionally graded (FG) porous nanobeams due to lateral mechanical load is scrutinized. Material properties are assumed to vary continuously throughout the nanobeam thickness on the basis of the modified rule of mixture. The nonlocal equilibrium equations are derived according to the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory based on the von-Karman assumptions and nonlocal elasticity theory. Using Chebyshev polynomial, Ritz method is employed into the principle of virtual displacement to construct the matrix representation of governing equations. To investigate the snap-through phenomenon, cylindrical arch-length method is adopted to trace nonlinear equilibrium paths through limit points of the porous nanobeam subjected to heat conduction (HC) thermal preloading. The primary objective of this research is to explore the influences of the power law index, porosity volume fraction, and boundary conditions on the snap-through behavior of the graded nanobeam. It is shown that with increasing the porosity volume fraction, both of the upper and lower limit loads of the graded nanobeam decreases.
