چکیده
In a part of the main research on Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies) fauna of Iran, six species were reported from Iran for the first time. All specimens collected with aerial insect net and preserved in ethyl alcohol 75%. Identification of the specimens was performed using stereomicroscope and various new related keys and references. Several images from the specimens were also taken using a DSLR camera and various macro lenses and then images were stacked with Zerene Stacker 1.04. All specimens deposited in Zoology Museum in Collection of Biology department of Shiraz University (ZM-CBSU). Totally, six new species were recorded, three species from suborder Zygoptera containing Pseudagrion hypermelas Selys, 1876, from southeast, Coenagrion ornatum (Selys 1850) from northwest and Ceriagrion georgifreyi Schmidt, 1953 (Coenagrionidae) from West. Three other species from suborder Anisoptera including, Onychogomphus macrodon Selys 1887 (Gomphidae) from west, Sympetrum pedemontanum (Müller 1766) from north and Orthetrum abbotti Calvert 1892 from south (Libellulidae) of the Country. P. hypermelas is an oriental species of this genus thus; we have three oriental species for this taxon now. Particular form of the superior appendages of males with two pincers like basal spines are unique in this species. This species has previously been reported from Pakistan. The species C. ornatum is close to more abundant species, C. vanbrinkae, which were collected only from two border regions close to the Iran-Turkey border. Contrary to some similar morphological characters in males of these two species, pronotum of the females with a distinct cleft clearly separates these species. For C. georgifreyi this record is the first record of the genus for this very rare species. IUCN position of this species is overall vulnerable (VU) critically endangered for Europe. Onychogomphus macrodon is also another rare dragonfly with VU position with decreasing population in habitats. Sympetrum pedemontanum only was found in Gilan province with few single records but is abundant in Armenia, and O. abbotti which specimens found in a small mountain spring, is an Afrotropical species with only one record in Oman and an old single record from Jordan.
