چکیده
The present study was aimed to evaluate the gonads of caught Persian sturgeon(Acipenser persicus) in the southern coats of the Caspian Sea by trawling in 2010.The gender of 32 caught Persian sturgeons were examined. After biometry ofspecimens, a small piece of gonads was removed and fixed into Bouin s solution. Thehistological section of gonads were prepared based on routine histological technique.The histological sections were studied and photographed using a light microscopeequipped with a monitor. The results showed that the caught specimens wereconsisted of 23 females (71.9%) and 8 males (28.1%). The results also revealed that13 of females (56.6%) were in stage I, 7 (30.4%) in stage II, and 3 (13%) in stage III,whereas in males, 5 specimens (55.6%) were in stage I, 2 specimens (22.2%) in stageII, 1 specimen (11.1%) in stage III. This study showed that the sturgeons of thesouthern Caspian Sea in terms of biometry and maturation were young so that theywere in the lower stages of maturation.کلیدواژه ها
