چکیده مقاله:

The crude oil which is released to the seawater from various reservoirs leads to many environmental and economic losses. Pollution from the refineries, oil industries and tanker loading are one of the serious challenges. Thus, given to the recent incident with spreading oil spill on the surface of sea water, the need for environmentally friendly oil sorbents has increased. In this research paper, Nano perlite was selected as an environmentally low-cost natural clays which was treated physically, then, its kinetics models and equilibrium adsorption isotherms were studied. The results showed that adsorption kinetics was best described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. In addition, Equilibrium studies indicated that the Langmuir isotherm was the best fit isotherm for the adsorption of oil by Nano-perlite. Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-Ray diffraction analyses, were deployed to identified the characteristic of Nano-adsorbent.
