Lumped model parameter estimation

This paper describes a method of lumped model estimation from a system with mechanical parameters. In this study we have taken a slightly different approach to the estimation of the parameters and tried to advance existing estimation methods by mixing the proper statistical concepts. The model is transferred to state space and modeled by damper, mass and a spring. The results of estimation using least square (LS) and least mean square (LMS) exhibited the best way and compered with relevant experimental observation and are in good agreement with them.
