Background: Salvia officinalis is medicinal and aromatic plants belonging to the Lamiaceae family, which have many pharmaceutical properties Sage is a herb and a member of a family under the scientific Salvia officinalis Labiatae, and is referred to as Maryam flower in Iran. sage has long been employed due to its therapeutic potential. In Iran traditional medicine, it has been exploited as anti-spasmodic, astringent, sedative, anti-hyperglycemic, and anti-inflammatory medication. Objective: To study the effects of anti cancerCompounds present in Salvia officinalis extracts such as Cineol and Camphor have anti-microbial properties. Antioxidant compounds are probably called anti-cancerous. Methods: cancer were induced by DMBA(Dimethyl-Benzantheracene) dissolved in sunflower oil for 4 week treatment. And sage leaf hydroalcoholic extract for 4 week. Control group were received distilled water.Result: Angiogenesis is a key process in cancer spread and metastasis. The hydroalcoholic extract of garden sage halted angiogenesis in both human and mouse models Breast cell line, although the highest impact belonged to hexane extract. Findings have demonstrated the therapeutic effects of garden sage such as anti-angiogenesis activity in culture medium and in vitro, and also its anti-migratory properties Conclusion:Saliva officinalis could prevent breast cancer potentially.
