soft measurement of spark plug dimensions

a soft measurement system is developed to measure the distance between the electrodes of car sparking plug the system employs a vision system consisting of a camera connected to a computer via a frame grabber and an image processing software. algorithms have been developed to accurately measure the distance between electrodes of spark plug the measured dimensions in terms of pixels are converted to physical values the measurements are compared to actual dimensions and it is shown that the method works and is significantly quicker than the traditional meethod however with the system being used the accuracy achieved is less than that is required.
