چکیده مقاله:
Air pollution, water and soil contamination, destruction of ecosystems and wildlife, and other environmental degradation tends are the important reasons why it is crucial to offer environmental sciences as a formal course within the Iranian education system. This study attempted to examine the impact of environmental sciences in several high-schools. The methodology consisted of 4 stages. Firstly,the contributing factors were identified. Then, the students went through diagnostic evaluation at the second stage and the third stage of the study which involved the implementation of research project. Finally at the fourth stage, the outcomes of educational courses for students were discussed. Research data were analyzed through SPSS as well as descriptive and inferential statistics such as T-test and Wilcoxonsigned-rank test. The results of t-test showed that the difference between the two variables (environmental nowledge of students before and after offering the course) was significant at 99%. In other words, the training course left a positive impact, which can later resolve many of the environmental issues under the formal Iranian education system.
